Description

Name: Velociraptor antirrhopus nublarensis
Time Period: Late Cretaceous
Native Land: North America
Height: nearly 1.8 meters (6 feet) high
Length: 4 meters (13 feet)
Weight: 160 pounds (73 kilos)
Diet: Canivore
Genetic or Other Abnormalities: wrong common and latin name, lacks feathers, more flexble wrist than in the original species, lack of snout bumps, maybe different skin colors, higher IQ level, more flexible tail, slip pupils, extremely increased stamina, and increased power in leg muscles.
Danger: Extremely Dangerous
Info: The velociraptor is one of the most dangerous animals in Jurassic Park. Even though its called velociraptor or raptor, its real name is "Deinonychus antirrhopus" (Balanced Terrible Claw). This mistake was made simply because when they were cloning these animals, Deinonychus was considered one of the velociraptors. Today, we think its more unlikely. But the scientist in InGen have the last laugh. When you first named the creature, the first name stays with the creature no matter what and some scientist today don't seem to mind (just as long the second name "antirrhopus" is present. It can run at cheetah speed, 50 to 60 miles per hour, if they ever get out in the open and they are incredible jumpers. Also as bonus, they are extremely intelligent, even problem-solving intelligence. They usually prefer fresh meat, but with carcasses near their nesting grounds, they won't always turn their nose away from a easy meal. They are night-hunters and they prefer to hunt in long grass. They do live in packs, but their pack structure is more like a pack of aggressive pit bulls or wolves. V. nublarensis's social structure was relatively brutal in comparison to their V. sornaensis counterparts. They still communicated with each other, possibly by eye communication and like chimpanzees do, but it wasn't as complex or as effective as the V. sornaensis. This, in addition to the brutality makes their pack far less organized than the V. sornaensis, and slightly scaled down in intelligence as the V. nublarensis does not take full advantage of their surroundings. They live in the southern region of Isla Sorna.

Also as bonus, they are extremely intelligent, even problem-solving intelligence. It is believed that V. sornaensis is the original Velociraptor that Grant has been digging up in both digs, or relatively close to this animal. InGen most likely cloned the V. sornaensis first and then realized that it's intelligence and social structure would be making it too dangerous for park viewing. InGen then did some more genetic manipulation to produce the V. nublarensis, realizing the animal was still dangerous, albeit a lot less than V. sornaensis. InGen, possibly already behind schedule from doing this, decided to introduce the animal with massive security precautions in place into the park on Isla Nublar. V. sornaensis works together as a highly-communicable pack as there is no brutality in their social structure. V. sornaensis had a better understanding of the humans, probably better than V. nublarensis. V. nublarensis is more akin to very intelligent wolves in their intelligence, example: opening doors, digging, etc. While V. sornaensis is more organized like early humans in their intelligence. They live in the Northern part of Isla Sorna.
