Jake has been a church going child ever since he was a boy.
He loved going there and is a true Christian.
He loved singing in church.
He loved doing what God wants him to do, that is to spread love.
He loved being a Christian.
But there was one thing that he wanted, but didn't get at the time.....
A pleasant face-to-face conversation with Jesus.
He knows that he'll see Jesus in heaven, but he wants to see him before that.......
Jake was just walking down the street to visit his pastor.
He was only suppose to meet him a hour later, but Jake likes to go there a bit earlier (old habit of his).
As he walked down the street by the park, Jake decides to sit on the bench so that he can clear his mind. Then, a homeless man came and sat by Jake. He has ragged clothes and looks like he would be in his thirties.
The man looks at Jake and says "Hello there."
Jake replied "Hello sir."
"Nice day, isn't it?"
"Oh yes it is, sir. The Lord must be happy today, don't you think?"
The man looks up in the air and said "He is."
Jake starts to like the guy pretty quickly and decides to introduce himself "My name's Jake, by the way, sir."
The man shook Jake's hand and says "Call me Chris."
"Nice to meet you, Chris."
The man (or Chris) smiles and nods.
For almost a hour, Jake and Chris talk to each other as if they've known each other for a long time.
Jake talked about some of his problems and Chris gave him some good advice, REALLY good advice. Chris talked a little about God and Chris agrees with a smile. Chris and Jake told each other jokes and they always laughed at them with joy.
Jake really likes Chris and even asks him if he can come to church someday.
"I'll be honored." Chris said with a huge smile.
Then, Jake quickly remembered about going to see his pastor.
"Oh snap! Sorry, but I gotta get going. See ya Chris." Jake quickly said.
"It's okay, you hurry on now." Chris humbly replied.
When Jake got to the church, he was really out of breath.
He sees his pastor, who is sitting on a chair as if he was waiting for him.
"I'm sorry, I am kinda forgot." Jake apologized.
The pastor replies "No worries. In fact, you're just in time."
Jake was confused by what he said.
The pastor stood up, humbly nodded to his left, and said "He's waiting for you."
Jake turns to where the pastor nodded and sees Chris.
"Chris? What are you doing here?" Jake asked.
"I came to meet you, Jake." Chris humbly said.
Catching onto Jake's confusion, the pastor said "Jake, do you know what name is the word 'Chris' one letter away from?"
Jake thinks about it hard.
Then, his eyes grew when he realizes it.
When he turned towards Chris, he sees something truly extraordinary....
He sees Chris, but only with holy white robes instead of rags and he emits a light that's even purer than light.
"Jesus Christ?" Jake asked.
"I am" Chris (or Jesus Christ) answered.
Suddenly, Jake bowed down to him very quickly, saying "I am . . so . . so sorry, Lord. I . . . didn't re-recognize you. I-"
Jake was interrupted with when he feels a gentle touch on the top of his head, with Jesus saying "Do not be afraid. I have not come to scorn you or anything like that."
Jake let himself lose a bit.
"Rise, my son."
Jake quickly stood up and looked at Jesus in a pretty humble way.
Jake asked "Why . . . why didn't you . . . . you tell me who you are?"
Jesus smiled and said "Because you would've spoke to me as a scared slave, not as a friend"
Jake smiled, with joyful tears rolling down his cheeks.
Jesus continued "Though I am the King of kings and Lord of lords, it does not mean I don't love you. Just because you are a servant of my father, it does not mean that my father and I don't care about you. When I bared your sins on that cross, I didn't do as a job to take my property, but as a duty of love to save you from the demise of sin."
Jake couldn't help himself, he ran to Jesus and hugged him, with Jesus hugging in return.
"I love you, my Lord and Savior." Jake said.
"I love you too, my faithful servant and friend" Jesus replied.
